PurposeGate Support
PurposeGate is a private, local-first browser extension. Most setup and troubleshooting can be handled from the extension's Rules, Activity, and Settings screens.
Common Fixes
- If a rule is not applying, open the rule and confirm site access was granted for that hostname.
- If YouTube prompts do not appear, confirm the YouTube rule is enabled and that you are outside unrestricted windows.
- If a site should be open, check whether an unrestricted window, override, or daily budget is currently active.
- If you are moving devices, use Settings to export a backup and restore that JSON file on the new browser profile.
Privacy and Data
PurposeGate has no account, cloud sync, analytics, or advertising. Rules, activity, exports, and backup files stay on the user's device unless the user chooses to move them.
